How it is made
As the studio tells it
The seller lists the cup as handmade and says it keeps the marks of it: fine throwing lines, glaze that flowed in the fire, and colour set by where the cup sat in the kiln. The milky glaze stops partway down, so you hold bare speckled clay at the base. The maker and the place of making are not stated.
The rim is softly ruffled, and a thin ring handle is set high on the side. Rust-coloured flecks show through the white glaze. Choose a ceramic saucer with the same ruffled edge, or a round wooden one; a teaspoon comes with both.
