How it is made
As the studio tells it
The seller describes these as handmade, with the apples in underglaze colour under a speckled glaze it calls sesame glaze. The maker is not named, and the place of making is given only as China.
The glaze is oatmeal flecked with dark specks, edged in toasted brown. The cup is round-bellied with a scalloped rim and a band of apples in three kinds: solid red, red with yellow dots, and cream outlined in red. Its saucer is the scalloped plate. The plate has a criss-cross of brown lines in the middle like a pie lattice. The apple-shaped dish has a wide red rim dotted with yellow, the same lattice and a small modelled stem.
